Charlotte Ross is a talented actress who possesses invariable talent, range and beauty. This summer, the actress stars in the second season of the critically acclaimed Showtime series "Beggars And Choosers." One of the last projects developed by Brandon Tartikoff, this affectionate satire was inspired by h is experience in the television business and centers around characters attempting to survive in this chaotic and back-stabbing world. Charlotte portrays a "chooser" - "Lori Volpone" the Vice President of Development at a struggling television network that relies on her tenacity to up their ratings. Her machiavellian character is ruthless, quick witted and ruled by blind ambition. Most recently, Charlotte starred in the family drama "Trinity" created by John Wells and the NBC mini-series "A Will Of Their Own." She has also had lead roles in such television shows as "The Five Mrs. Buchanans," "The Heights" (for which she received a Gold Record) and telefilms "A Kiss So Deadly," "Fall Into Darkness," "She Says She's Innocent," and "Dark Waters."
Previously, she garnered two Emmy Award nominations for her role on "Days Of Our Lives." Charlotte has had a plethora of notable guest appearances on a variety of hit series. Recently, she portrayed a manic-depressive on "Birdland" opposite Brain Dennehy, a strung-out drug addict on "ER" and the recurring role of a slain policeman's wife on "NYPD Blue."
A chameleon in her trade, Charlotte has also appeared in such films as "Touch and Go" with Michael Keaton, "Love & A .45" opposite Gil Bellows and Renee Zellwegger, "Savage Land", "Foreign Student" and "Donuts."
Charlotte was discovered in a theatre performance at the age of 13 and against her parent's wishes, she was signed with an agent by 14. At New Trier High School, she continued her study in performing arts and trained at the Steppenwolf Theater and Second City in Chicago. Eventually parlaying her acting prowess on the Los Angeles stage, she studied with renown acting coach Roy London and performed at the Pasadena Playhouse and Tiffany Theaters.
Among her many talents, Charlotte also possesses an amazing singing voice. Specifically, she studied opera for five years and her talent has been highlighted in almost every character that she has portrayed.
Charlotte has collaborated with the Jane Goodall Institute, SPCA and PETA for many years. While on location in Puerto Rico she adopted a homeless dog named "Taco" who now befriends her yellow lab "Alex" and her one-eyed Pekinese "Katy".
The actress continues to reside in Los Angeles when she is not shooting "Beggars And Choosers" on location in Vancouver.
